Opening of the Youth Center “START”
On February 12, 2020, the Youth Center “START” was inaugurated.
At the main event of the month, highly respected guests came: Head of the State Institute for Family and Youth Policy – Pesha Irina, Head of the Family and Youth Affairs Department of Uman City Council – Natalia Vdovychenko, Vice-Rector for Innovation Research and European Integration, etc. doctor of ped. sciences, Professor – Kolyada Natalia Mykolaivna, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Associate Professor – Natalia Revnyuk, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education, Ped. – Assoc. Prof. – Kravchenko Oksana.
The distinguished guests expressed their welcome words and wishes for the Youth Center to be an enabling environment that will provide opportunities for active youth development through a combination of leisure, non-formal education and personal growth.
At the opening of the Youth Center “START”, his coordinator – Kalyuzhenko Alina presented the main purpose, main tasks, main directions of work for the realization of tasks, principles of work of the center.
The Coordinator also reported on all the events organized and conducted by the Youth Center during 2019, which were developed in accordance with the directions and tasks of the Youth Center’s activities, taking into account the interests of student youth, all measures aimed at: discovering the potential of youth; promoting youth social development and development; self-realization, youth self-improvement; affirmation of patriotism; formation of universal values in youth; promoting healthy lifestyles; organization of meaningful leisure.
During the presentation the perspectives of the Youth Center activity were defined.
The START Youth Center is a place where every visitor will find useful information or spend their time with benefits. In the center you can conduct trainings, seminars on various topics, organize student meetings to discuss current problems of youth work, hold events on various topics, arrange cinema lectures, find useful information about youth work in Ukraine, best practices of youth work in Ukraine, features of non-formal education. Students can also work with additional material to help them become more familiar with the specifics of youth work in higher education institutions.
The START Youth Center is a place where young people will be able to implement their ideas, learn, participate in the development of youth work in a higher education institution.
