Round Table Meeting on the occasion of the World Day for the Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings.

July 30 marks the World Day against Trafficking in Human Beings.
On this occasion, on July 26, 2019, in the rehabilitation complex for people with special needs, a round table was held on the occasion of the World Day against Trafficking in Human Beings.
The meeting began with the head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the People Galina Kucher, who noted that in Uman, the work in the field of counteraction to trafficking in human beings is based on the Law of Ukraine “On counteraction to trafficking in human beings” and the city social program of combating human trafficking for the period 2015-2020, approved by the decision of Uman City Council dated March 13, 2015, No. 3.4-67 / 6 (as amended). Has provided information on measures taken by the Anti-Trafficking Department.
The meeting was attended by information and concrete proposals in the field of combating human trafficking: Tkachenko Svetlana Stepanivna – Director of the Center for Integrated Social Services in Uman; Kravchenko Oksana Alekseevna – Dean of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education of the Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavlo Tychyna; Flyudrenko Elena Anatolievna – Methodist of the methodical cabinet of the Uman City Council Education Department; Vdovichenko Natalia Victorivna – Head of the Department for Family and Youth; Krupskaya Alla Miroslavovna – Head of the Department of Active Support of the Umansky City Employment Center; Tokunov Sergey Ivanovich – the head of the Uman informational-analytical center of the medical center of medical statistics; Zhizhko Mariya Nikolaevna – Head of the Department of Organization and Provision of Social Services for Families with Children, including ATO Participants and their Families and Internally Displaced Persons at the Center for Integrated Social Services in the city of Uman Chupryak Lyudmila Anatolievna – Head of the Youth City Council of Uman; Yakovenko Natalya Nikolaevna – the head of the NGO “The Association of Internally Displaced Persons” Source of Hope “.
In the city according to the city social program of counteraction to trafficking in human beings for the period 2015-2020, the corresponding work is carried out, namely:
• Meetings, meetings, “round tables” with participation of the Labor and Social Protection Department, Uman City Employment Center, Education Department, Department of Health, Children’s Services, Family and Youth Affairs, Uman Police Department The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region, the Department of Culture, the Department of Information and Public Affairs, which discusses the relevance of this issue and highlights the ways of preventing city residents from entering the situation of trafficking in human beings;
• A wide informative and explanatory work among the population is held at the meetings of the legal universal educational “Uman Family”, among social organizations of social orientation, at meetings of the Veterans Club “Nadvechirya”, at events held with children of privileged categories on the occasion of significant dates. A total of 32 such events were held during the first half of 2019, where social advertising was disseminated on this topic;
• 86 polls were conducted by questionnaires among families with children
• brochures were distributed among the participants of the Barvorya Leisure and Recreation Center, pregnant women, internally displaced persons and unemployed persons who are registered at the employment center;
• discussions with parents and guardians have been conducted to raise awareness about the current manifestations of trafficking in the family survey;
• Schoolchildren held interviews with students to learn about and how to avoid the main ways in which trafficking in children could be trafficked;
• Hotline telephones at the state level are operated by the National Hotline (IOM) 527 or 0800505501 and the hotline telephone number 4 00 53 (office # 27) – labor and social security management;
• Work in the field of combating trafficking in human beings is covered by the websites of the Uman City Council, Labor and Social Security Administration and the official Facebook pages;
• On the occasion of the celebration of the National Police Day, Uman’s law enforcement officers conducted a street action for children and youth, during which events were held to promote the safety of children in the city and prevent human trafficking;
• In the summer recreation camp of the sanatorium type “Mriya” and the Center for leisure and recreation for school-age children “Brovoray” safety instructions were conducted. Children were provided with explanations on emergency rules of conduct, information on services that provide assistance in the case of trafficking in persons, violence or ill-treatment of the child.
All attendees emphasized the priority of this issue and provided their proposals for improving the work in the city of Uman. It was emphasized that such a form of gathering with the participation of all services and representatives of the public working in this area is an example of a multidisciplinary approach to the task of combating human trafficking.
