The collodion is increasing – we meet in the spring

Students of the FSPO who are members of the Family Education Center got acquainted with the traditions of celebrating Carnival. Today, the holiday is most famously known as Maslyana – although this week it was called only in the border regions with Russia this week.

The initiator of the event, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work Viktoria Polekhina, said that in Ukraine since the days of Trypillian culture, Kolodia, or Syropusna, Women’s Sunday was celebrated. Kolodiy is the God of marriage, reconciliation and understanding, Holidays Kolodiy is the glorification of the sun.

The participants of the event tried out recipes for the best cheese dishes: classic cheese dumplings, lazy dumplings, cheese rolls, snowdrops, cheese and poppy pies. And also recreated elements of folk festivals for each day of the week within the ritual.
