Students of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education actively participated in the city event “Your Life, Your Choice” dedicated to the World AIDS Day.
AIDS, or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, is a serious infectious disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which affects the human immune system, while reducing the body’s disease response.
The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome was first reported in the United States in 1983. Within two months the patient died. Today, four hundred thousand people are infected with the disease a day in the world. AIDS itself is not a deadly disease, but the functioning of its virus in the body affects the immune system so that even a simple undead can lead to death.
HIV destroys T lymphocytes, which leads to the loss of the body’s protective reactions, which activates the so-called conditionally pathogenic flora of the body and dramatically increases the likelihood of fatal inflammation, damage to the nervous system, the development of cancer.
