Educational: introductory practice in the service for children of the Uman district state administration

Within the framework of the educational: introductory practice, students of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education visited the children’s affairs office of the Uman district state administration.

The service is a structural unit of the district state administration. The service in its activity is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, Laws of Ukraine, acts of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, orders of the head of the regional state administration, decisions of the regional council, decrees of the district state administration, decisions of the district council, the Regulations on the service for children of the district state administration, approved by the state administration.

The main tasks of the service are:

implementation in the relevant territory of the state policy on the issues of social protection of children, prevention of child neglect and homelessness, committing child offenses;
development and implementation of actions on protection of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of children independently or together with other structural units of executive power, bodies of local self-government, enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership, public organizations;
coordination of efforts of local executive authorities, local self-governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership in addressing the issues of social protection of children and organization of work to prevent child neglect and homelessness;
ensuring compliance with the requirements of the legislation on guardianship and custody of children, their adoption, placement in orphanages of family type, foster families;
control over the conditions of custody and upbringing of children in orphanages and children deprived of parental care, in special institutions and social protection institutions for children of all forms of ownership;
keeping national statistics on children;
keeping records of children in difficult life circumstances, orphans and children deprived of parental care, adopted, foster care, orphanages, family-type and social rehabilitation centers (orphanages);
determining priority areas for improving the situation of children in their respective territories, their social protection, promoting physical, spiritual and intellectual development, preventing child neglect and homelessness, and committing child offenses.
Many more institutions are waiting for students to visit in the near future, but we can say with certainty that the beginning of the beginning of the practice was at a high level, students with new forces are ready to apply their knowledge in the future, so you can wish the trainees students in their interesting work .

Undoubtedly, the excursion contributed to the formation of students’ ideas about working with this category of children and helped to optimize the educational process by getting acquainted with the main directions of work in organizations engaged in social-pedagogical and psychological activities with children and youth, as well as with the peculiarities of professional activity, specialists work in these institutions.
