Introductory conference for future psychologists
Practice is the most important link in the professional training of a psychologist. The purpose of educational: social and psychological practice is to form the professional position of the future psychologist, his outlook, style of behavior, professional ethics; acquainting students with the main activities of the psychologist.
This type of practice is the initial stage of practical preparation of students for professional activity, which lays the foundations of practical skills, creative attitude to the activity, is the formation of professional qualities of the personality of the future practical psychologist.
Thus, the faculty of social and psychological education held an induction conference prior to the internship, during which the students’ tasks, rights and responsibilities, as well as individual tasks were defined.
In the course of practice, the student not only gets acquainted with different types of institutions and organization of work of psychologists in them, but also gets used to the rhythm of the work process, begins to be guided in the system of industrial relations and relationships. The future psychologist comes into contact with potential clients, begins to really represent all the difficulties and joys of his professional activity.
There is a process of developing the basic professional skills, the formation of professional consciousness, which from the plane of ideal ideas goes into the system of real attitudes and views.
The future specialist can really learn to accept people as they are, to work out their patience, endurance, perseverance, responsibility and sense of duty. Starting to work relatively independently, students understand that it is necessary to constantly engage in self-education and self-education, as professionally significant qualities require constant development.
In the course of practice the student develops both in personal and professional terms. He learns to think and act like a professional, not just focusing on common sense and life experience.
In the real production activity are revealed the personal and professional qualities of the future psychologist, his strengths and weaknesses.
The conference was attended by group leaders of psychology, associate professor of psychology department Olkhovetsky SM and psychologist, teacher of psychology department Gurtovenko NV, who provided recommendations on the tasks of the program of practice.
