Three inclusive groups have been established at the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education
Today, the number of persons with disabilities receiving higher education is steadily increasing, requiring the HEA to respond promptly and to address the problem of education and social development of such persons.
The Faculty of Social and Psychological Education of the Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavel Tychyna has created all the conditions for teaching students with disabilities, in particular providing special educational and rehabilitation support for persons with special educational needs and providing them with free access to the university’s infrastructure.
Recently, in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Approval of the Procedure for the Organization of Inclusive Education in Higher Education Institutions” of 6 July 2019, three inclusive groups were created at the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education.
The prerequisites for the creation of such groups are the latest trends in the educational space, because today, much attention is paid to giving equal access to education and inclusion of people with special needs in the educational environment and in the social life of society.
At the meetings of the Academic Council of the Faculty, the University Rectorate, the issues of creating conditions for studying of this category of students are constantly considered.
The Faculty of Social and Psychological Education enables these students not only to obtain a relevant qualification, a modern profession, but also to assist in employment. Students with special needs from all regions of Ukraine study at the university. They choose their specialty as a rule of specialty: “Social work”, “Psychology”, having received a profession, they will be able to work in institutions of social sphere and help people with disabilities.
