21 листопада 2019

The British Council is an international organization of the United Kingdom whose aim is to deepen cultural ties and educational opportunities. We foster friendly dialogue and better understanding between people in the UK and in other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we partner with – changing lives, creating opportunities, building relationships and trust. We work in more than 100 countries in the fields of arts and culture, English, education and civil society. Last year, we interacted with more than 75 million people and reached 758 million people online, broadcasts and publications. Since 1934, we have been a British charity, governed by the Royal Charter and UK government. http://www.britishcouncil.org.ua

Student Action helps participants strengthen their leadership skills in implementing social initiatives and learn the tools to influence the quality of higher education at their university.

One of the prerequisites for the implementation of higher education reform in Ukraine is the development of students’ leadership potential and the acquisition of skills to create initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of the educational process in universities.

In the UK, students play an important role in organizing the educational process. Their involvement and influence in improving the education and protection of students’ rights is greatly appreciated. Taking into account the best practices of the British higher education system, the British Council in Ukraine promotes student self-government and the development of student leaders in Ukraine.

The program was developed by Mykhailo Vinnytskyi (Head of the Secretariat of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Lecturer at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, UCU Business School and Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine).

Program participants will learn about:

  • the role of students in the quality assurance of higher education;
  • tools for influencing the quality of education at universities;
  • peculiarities of dialogue and cooperation of students with the administration of higher education institution;
  • the role of student self-government bodies and student organizations;
  • successful experience in implementing social initiatives in Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

This year, the project of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education “Academic Integrity as a Component of the Quality of the Educational Process in the HEA” was the winner in the grant project for the students of the Student Action Program
