PASSAGE STUDY CENTRE PRACTICE IN SOCIAL disabled children “Snowdrop”

As part of the study the practice of passing students of second course of 210, 210 and 211, the group of the Faculty of Social and psychological education visited a number of institutions that provide social services to residents, reablitatsiyni Uman area.
One of these schools was the Social Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children “Snowdrop” department of labor and social protection of Uman city council.
Center located in premises that meet sanitary and hygienic, fire protection requirements for safety, have all kinds of municipal beautification. Center cooperates with the Department of Health, Department of Education and other organizations in the Cherkasy region.

Social Rehabilitation Center sets itself and performs the following tasks:

  • ensuring the rights of children with disabilities in social rehabilitation and adaptation with a view to its subsequent integration into groups for children preschool and secondary schools;
  • creating conditions for comprehensive development, learning pupils knowledge and skills to prepare them for pre-school education, followed by children to get basic and full secondary education, vocational and higher education with the advice of doctors;
  • prepare the parents of disabled children to continue the process reabilitatsiynoho- with disabled children outside the Centre, socio-pedagogical patronage of such families;
  • provides professional assistance to disabled children in the implementation korektsiyi- psychophysical development of the individual program of rehabilitation and involves participation in this program parents;
  • organize a comprehensive rehabilitation and adaptation of disabled children;
  •  social patronage Service Center provides services for social and pedagogical patronage at home.

Every year in the summer, children can healthier in the summer camp “Dream”, which is based rehabilitation center. The camp “Dream” – that three meals and excursions to arboretum “Sofiyivka” in museums, picture gallery, Movies. An interesting program being rich variety of entertainment, sports activities.

In terms Rehabilitation Center acquired experience in supporting families with disabled children. Parents with disabilities are not left alone with their problems. The work Rehabilitation Center uses different models, methods and ways of working to improve their social adaptation. Thus, the main purpose and idea of ​​the Center is to educate the child in normal conditions, the job of family and friends, forming the ability to choose the professional field that best suits personal abilities, development of subjectivity pupil, ie the ability to successfully solve their problems and consciously build their lives. For employees of institutions important for people to know that they are waiting for skilled care. All their time and energy they have devoted a complex and high purpose that each year gives fruitful results.

The Center provides early social and medico-social rehabilitation, conducts individual learning disabled children 1-7 classes, helps parents of disabled children.
Students are very grateful to the administration institution for the opportunity to view the work of the Center for Social Rehabilitation of Disabled Children “Snowdrop” department of labor and social protection of Uman city council.
