The Role of Conflict Role Playing

8 жовтня 2019

October 01-03, 2019 within the framework of the project “Peacekeeping Initiatives for Donbass – Searching for the Future”, a role-playing game “Curve of Conflict” has started in Lviv. 28 participants from different parts of Ukraine gathered for three days to raise awareness of conflicts, get tools for conflict management and management. The project is supported by the Hans Seidel Foundation. Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology Svetlana Dikhtarenko took an active part in the role-playing game.

The “Curve of Conflict” role-playing game is 5 imaginary neighboring countries with different resources and inhabitants that were one country many years ago. Throughout the game, participants received tasks of varying complexity from the facilitators, as well as the urge to build friendly relations between countries. Even in the game, it turns out to be very, very difficult to negotiate, especially when countries’ resources are scarce, especially when all 5 countries choose war instead of a defense strategy.

The “Conflict Curve” is also a great opportunity to leverage your strategic thinking and planning skills, your communication skills, and learn to hear each other.

And yet – these are three incredible days in Lviv, with the taste of coffee, the voice of street musicians, the incredible atmosphere of the city and new friends!
