Women’s Leadership Forum
On January 30, 2020, with the assistance of Egalite International, the Women’s Leadership Forum was held under the international project “Strengthening Women’s Political Leadership in Territorial Kyiv and Cherkasy Regions” with the support of the Canadian Foundation for Local Self-Government Initiatives and Colleagues.
The purpose of the forum is to strengthen the role of women in the territorial communities of the region, to increase professional knowledge and leadership skills, to create a network of active women leaders who have an active public position and seek to improve living conditions in their communities.
On the instructions of Mayor Alexander Tsebriy, the participants of the forum were greeted by the secretary of the Uman City Council Lyudmila Kyrylyuk. International Development Expert, Managing Partner and Development Manager of Egalite International Organization – Vygovska-Kamenko Tatyana presented the international project “Strengthening Women’s Political Leadership in the Territorial Kyiv and Cherkasy Regions”.
Head of the Department of Labor and Social Welfare Galina Kucher gave a presentation “The role of women in modern society. Practical experience. ”
Dean of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education Oksana Kravchenko reported on “Gender Aspects of Female Student Leadership Development in Higher Education Institutions”.
The chairman of the Nebiduzhi International Charitable Foundation, project coordinator in Cherkasy oblast – Kulik Mina reported on the development of women’s leadership and women’s participation in local self-government, social movement and the development of their own self-realization in the project’s OGG.
Youth ideas about cohesion and active action of women’s organizations and initiative groups were shared by students of Cherkasy National University B. Khmelnitsky, a member of the Vovk Vitalina Center for Gender Education and Zdir Darin.
The topical issues were discussed.
Participants of the Regional Women’s Leadership Forum visited the Uman Art Museum and structural units of the Center of Integrated Social Services of Uman, which impressed the guests with the task of providing rehabilitation services in the type of sanatorium and the latest modern equipment.
The Department of Labor and Social Welfare has been cooperating with the Nebiduzhi Charitable Foundation for a long time and they have a joint project for major overhaul of the Center for Integrated Rehabilitation for Children with Disabilities “Prolisok” in the amount of UAH 352.0 thousand.
