Youth Center «START»
The START Youth Center is a joint project of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education of the Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University and the Department of Youth Affairs of the Uman City Council.
The basis for the creation and operation of the START Youth Center is Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine «On approval of typical provisions on the youth center and on the expert council at the youth center».
In its activities, the Youth Center interacts with enterprises, institutions of various forms of ownership, cultural and art institutions, mass media, educational institutions, health education, social protection and other organizations and associations of citizens.
The aim of the Center is to create conditions for the comprehensive development and self-realization of young people in various spheres of public life, to open up their potential, to protect interests and rights, to promote social development and development, to promote vocational leisure, to support talented youth.
One of the priority tasks of the Center is to create conditions for creative development of personality, intellectual self-improvement of youth; the promotion of patriotism, spirituality, morality and the formation of universal values in youth; promoting and promoting healthy lifestyles; creating a supportive environment for youth employment; interaction with youth non-governmental organizations; ensuring the development of international youth cooperation.
The head of the START Youth Center is Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work – Natalia Levchenko.
Areas of activity of the Youth Center «START»
- information and consulting – providing youth consultations, active cooperation with public and volunteer organizations of the city;
- project – support for projects of student self-government bodies, providing employment for young people in their free time, active interaction between local authorities and young people at the local level through involvement in the development of strategies, programs, events and projects; organization and holding of competitions, projects, programs of youth organizations aimed at solving youth problems;
- career guidance – helping young people determine their future profession: vocational training;
- mentoring – support and maintenance of interesting youth projects, search for volunteers in various areas.
