Training for experts in the accreditation of educational programs

On October 7-8, a training for experts in accreditation of educational programs was held. The training ground was the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University.

This event has become one of a series of regional trainings on building a culture of quality in higher education and a new accreditation system.

The training was attended by: Deputy Chairman, member of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Natalia Vadimivna Stukalo and specialist of the department of work of experts of the Secretariat of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Lyudmila Sheverun. Natalia Stukalo presented a new accreditation paradigm and in her inspired speech created an atmosphere of trust and fruitful cooperation.

The training program included thorough preliminary preparation: familiarization with the accreditation regulatory framework, completion of the online course “Expert on Accreditation of Educational Programs”, preparation of the final test. In-person training was aimed at gaining practical skills from future experts.

For two days the event program was full of:

– preparation of self-assessment report and work on identification of facts and evidence by criteria;

– drawing up a visit plan and allocation of roles within the group of experts;

– preparation for the visit of the expert group and conducting an on-site examination;

– simulations of expert meetings with teaching staff and students, during which each participant felt in each of the three roles;

– drawing up the report of the expert group;

– work with cases.

Much attention was paid to the ethical issues and peculiarities of the experts’ behavior during the field examination, as well as to procedural points.

As a result, the participants received important knowledge and experience. Ahead of certification and entry in the register of experts on accreditation of educational programs.
