Among the faculties of the Uman State Pedagogical University a special place is occupied by the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education, which offers to receive high-quality theoretical and practical training and become a participant in interesting social projects.

The faculty offers a wide range of specializations for an incoming student: an assistant teacher of inclusive education, medical psychology, social work management, practical psychology, organization of social and educational activities in out-of-school institutions and health institutions, jurisprudence and accounting in the system of social protection of the population, physical education, social pedagogy; social psychological counseling, PR-management, extreme psychology).

Areas of employment of graduates

Social workers and social educators can work in:

  • departments and departments of social protection: inspectors in state authorities and administration; Personnel Department; specialists in social planning and social welfare departments;
  • institutions of social protection of the population: executive directors (deputy directors on social issues); social assistance inspectors; employees of social services for youth; heads of centers, associations, clubs, social services; managers of the social sphere;
  • State Employment Service: managers for social work with the population; employment services specialists; executive directors (deputy directors for social affairs); social assistance inspectors;
  • governmental and non-governmental organizations and associations;international organizations: employees of social structures of enterprises, organizations; medical, educational, tourist, recreational, sports facilities, humanitarian funds, social associations; workers of organizations – subjects of social and humanitarian aid to the population;
  • health care institutions: consultants on social and psychological issues; employees of social structures (medical, health, etc.);
  • educational establishments: employees of departments of education; social workers (social pedagogues) in educational and cultural-educational institutions; employees of social structures of organizations, educational, tourist, sports institutions;
  • institutions of the penitentiary system: inspectors of the services of juvenile executive committees of local councils; employees of the organs of care; employees of the criminal police for juvenile delinquency; forensic and pedagogical experts; employees of the internal affairs bodies; tutors of penitentiary institutions; educators of the reception-distributor; officers of the bodies of internal affairs on questions of control and assistance in rehabilitation of persons released from places of detention;
  • self-government and executive authorities: specialists of the administrative department; staff of the personnel department;
  • Ministry of Emergencies of Ukraine: heads of specialized social services; insurance agents;
  • Centers for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth: Family Support and Development Services; employees of social services for youth; heads of centers, associations, clubs, social services; heads of children’s associations and organizations;
  • Scientific research institutes dealing with social issues: social workers-researchers; specialists in social, socio-pedagogical research.

Psychologists can work:

  • in educational institutions (kindergartens, schools, gymnasiums, higher education institutions, etc.) psychologists or teachers of psychological disciplines (after graduating from the magistracy);
  • in the medical field: clinical psychologists; family psychologists;
  • in production (in the personnel services of organizations and enterprises, psychologists at enterprises / institutions);
  • in the field of sports (sports psychologists);
  • in power structures (psychologists in state authorities and administration);
  • in the services of psychological support and assistance (telephones of trust).

A social security specialist has the right to work in social institutions on positions:

  • state inspector;
  • Inspector for payment and appointment of pensions;
  • Social Security Inspector;
  • inspector-inspector;
  • employment and labor contract agent, insurance agent;
  • specialist of the State Employment Service for the hiring of the labor force, from the specialized service;
  • a specialist of the Foundation for Public Organizations, the Fund for the Protection of Disabled and Other Funds, trade unions in the social security system.
